Government urged to address economic challenges, rising cost of living

Mr Stanley Agbozo, a Volta Regional communication member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on the government to address the current economic challenges and the rising cost of living in the country.

The economic challenges, he disclosed to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), were affecting the daily lives of every Ghanaian, and needed urgent intervention from the government.

Mr Agbozo recounted the escalating prices of essential goods, services, and necessities such as food, fuel, and housing which became more expensive and stretching household budgets to their limits.

He stated that some of these economic plights had made it increasingly difficult for individuals and families to manage their finances.

‘This situation is not just a minor inconvenience; it’s a significant concern that impacts the overall well-being of our population. I urge the government to take decisive action to alleviate these economic pressures,’ he noted.

Mr Agbozo urged the government to implement policies that could st
abilize prices and provide financial relief to the most affected households.

He added that the government should bolster measures on subsidizing essential goods, targeted support programs, and enact economic reforms aimed at reducing the cost of living.

He called on the government to enhance support for small businesses and entrepreneurs to stimulate economic activity and create jobs, which is vital for improving the overall economic situation.

‘It’s essential that the government listens to the concerns of its citizens and takes meaningful steps to address the economic challenges we are facing. By working together and implementing effective solutions, we can navigate these tough times and build a more resilient and prosperous future for all,’ he reiterated.
