HIGH COMMISSIONER ANDERSON MAKES LEAVE-TAKING CALL ON H.E. NANA DANKWA AKUFO-ADDO


As she concluded her diplomatic tour in Accra, Ghana, after serving as Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner for six years, Her Excellency Francess Virginia Anderson (PhD) took leave of the President of Ghana, Nana Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Wednesday, October 16th, at the Jubilee House.

In her statement, High Commissioner Anderson conveyed greetings from President Julius Maada Bio and the people of Sierra Leone while thanking President Akuffo Addo and his government for allowing her to serve peaceably, enjoying their support.

She commended the president for his style of leadership, which she described as exemplary, and wished him and the entire country all the best as they prepare for elections this year.

Madam Anderson thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration for their unending support during her tour.

Commenting on the great bilateral relations between both countries, the High Commissioner said it has always been great as that inspired her to hit the ground running when she was appointed
in 2018, within six days of presenting her letters of credence to the President of Ghana, President Julius Maada Bio made a state working visit to the Republic of Ghana.

The president of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his response welcomed the High Commissioner and team from the Sierra Leone High Commission and thanked her for her period in Ghana which he said further strengthened the bilateral relations between Ghana and Sierra Leone.

President Akuffo-Addo commended Madam Anderson for her role played while serving and wished her well in her new position.

The president on his part promised to speedily put into action cooperations that have been signed by both countries on issues of trade, education, and health.

In another development, a farewell call was also made to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana, Honourable Mavis Nkansah-Boadu.

seph Spencer Thornton, Counsellor Philip Brima Kabba, and Information Attaché, Princetta Williams.
